Form the right Coalitions: PART III

Then work towards a common goal.

PART III

As coalition parties start working towards their common goal of a Government of National Unity (GNU), the business community, in particular the property industry, has expressed hope that the formation of a GNU will bring stability to volatile financial markets and incentivise the SA Reserve Bank (SARB) to cut interest rates (Business Report).

Firzt Realty managing director, Stephen Whitcombe, had this to say about the GNU –

Despite the fact that it is early days for the GNU, there is also a widespread belief that the parties involved so far are genuinely committed to co-governance and have a good chance of achieving the objectives outlined in their agreement, which include reducing poverty and inequality, increasing economic growth and employment, creating a professional and merit-based public service, taking strong action against crime and corruption and improving education and healthcare.

But for many South Africans it feels like there is a new dawn that has broken in South Africa. We feel a new sense of hope and optimism about the future of our country. A lot of us feel better about our country than we have done for many years. It feels like we have finally been listened to, like our objections and outcries to corruption scandals and merciless cadre deployments has finally been taken seriously and a government that properly represents the ideals and needs of the people has finally been appointed.

It won’t be smooth sailing. That much is certain. There will be kinks that need to be ironed out and new GNU parties will need to learn how to work together. But for the first time in a long time, there is hope.

And hope springs eternal.

Hope got us thinking. Coalitions are hopeful. Because coalitions can be thought of as working relationships, like partnerships, where two companies work together to achieve a common goal. Where two companies work together for the mutual benefit of one another. Where two companies work together to serve a mutual purpose.

And we have those – amazing synergies with companies with which we work together with to serve our clients. Offering products for the mutual benefit of our clients and the products that they use. Coalitions we have entered into for the better.

Working towards a common goal with LexisNexis

But LexisNexis also have specific products with which they offer specific service offerings to their clients and with which AJS has a special working relationship. They include –

Lexis KYC

 Lexis Convey

Lexis Convey, formerly known as GhostConvey, is an all-in-one conveyancing management system that automates document assembly, as well as facilitating communication between all stakeholders within the property industry. As market leaders, we strive to provide a solution that simplifies ordinarily complex processes. The Lexis Convey solution enhances the operation of both large-scale and smaller firms, all of whom are able to reduce costs and grow their overall business efficiency through the use of Lexis Convey.

Used not only to produce attorney documents for the property transfer process, Lexis Convey also enables users to create and manage conveyancing matters, capture data required by banks and other industry role players, generate reports and assist with ensuring the firm runs smoothly and efficiently. Lexis Convey is no longer a luxury at attorney offices, it has become a necessity.

Why did we partner with LexisNexis?

The reason for our collaboration is two-fold.

Our mission has always been to simplify the way law firms work, to ease the burdens and to decrease the labour-intensive work. And that’s done quite succinctly by integrating with Lexis KYC who are able to not only make the KYC process simpler but to also ensure that there’s strict compliance with the requirements under The Financial Intelligence Centre Act 38 of 2001 (FICA) which has been amended by the Financial Intelligence Centre Amendment Act 1 of 2017 (FICAA) to conform to international standards set by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

But that’s not all, by Lexis Convey and AJS integrating, conveyancers save themselves a tremendous amount of time by creating (or linking existing) the corresponding account on AJS and posting fees.

All you need to do is open the account on Lexis Convey, click on the Accounting button, and it does the exact same thing on AJS, i.e. pulls through the relevant info on AJS. Your accounts are kept up to date and accurate both on Lexis Convey and AJS.

That’s a save in time for both conveyancing and compliance – what more could you ask for ey?
